Have pity on Mother Nature...

Our environment was given to us by God to help make our world a nice and attractive one.He made us to take care of his creations.But instead of taking care of Mother Nature look at what the people have done to her.There are illegal loggers who cut trees for wood to be used as a building material for building establishments.Fisherman who use dynamites tor kill fishes for their catch.That is why God is punishing us people by sending storms,floods and all the other calamities to the whole world.Not only that,He gives us problems and hardships so that we will learn from our mistakes and wrong doings especially to our environment.I just don't get why people should have to destroy the beauty of Mother Nature just to have a living instead of taking good care and preserving it.We,the humans have a very important role as the stewards of nature.It is our duty and responsibility to make our surroundings clean,green and beautiful.Our surroundings should be clean and free from pollution so that the people would not get sick and we would be able to breathe fresh and clean air.Those who would cut trees should already stop because cutting of trees would cause floods and only us people would suffer the consequences of our own wrong doings.If there are no more trees then where would the birds stay and live?To the fishermen also that uses dynamite for fishing,you would should stop it because dynamite fishing is also one cause why the fishes,including the baby fishes would be killed and the coral reefs would also be destroyed.If that is so then where would the fishes live.And if there are no fishes in the sea anymore what would they eat.Dynamite fishing is also dangerous to your health.It can cause people to get sick due to the chemicals inside it that makes it explode in the water.
If Mother Nature would be destroyed forever it would be us the people who would suffer from it.Anyway it is also our fault why it is destroyed.Because of what other people has done to our surroundings,all of us are being punished by our creator,God.All that He has created are for us to enjoy not to destroy,for us to take care and not to set aside.It is very important for us people and animals.It is where we live,without it we would have nowhere to stay for the rest of our lives.That is why if we would not want God to get angry at us we should do everything He wants to please Him.and that includes playing the very important role of man to nature.Being its steward.
While still early,we people should learn to take very good care of Mother Nature.Let us learn her importance in our lives.Always remember why she was created by God.We should also think of the things that would happen if we continue destroying our environment and surroundings.We should be thankful that God gave us our world to live on and an environment which brings beauty to our life.But instead of thanking Him we are displeasing and making Him angry by destroying and not taking care of our natural resources.In any little way we can help our community and country to save our Moher Nature.Even by doing little things like cleaning the streets,planting seedlings and dumping our garbage properly we can help in the preservation and improvement of our environment.We should help each other in reaching our goal of having a clean and green environment.

The negative side of U.P. students

In the University of the Philippines,there are many kinds or types of students.There are the silent types who are really very quiet,the noisy ones (which includes me) who are really noisy and talkative especially when the teacher is not around,and the moderate kind who knows just when to talk or be noisy (when needed).To other people,when they hear the word U.P. they say,"ah,those students are very intelligent" which is true to most or maybe all (char!) students here or UPians as we call ourselves.Although some are not so good in the academic level,they are not to be considered as "dull" because certainly they are not.Maybe it is just because they have a hard time understanding and adjusting to the lessons.
Answering the question "what U.P. students are not?" here are some sentences describing the qualities and what kind of students UPians are.First of all,we are not so very well-behaved.Some students are really quite of the silent type,but as the school year advances you can really see the different changes that happen to the person.Their hidden qualities are seen.They become naughty,talkative,playful and also noisy.This really shows that the first impression is not true all the time.You may say that a person is really like that but as time passes by you would then realize that your judgement was wrong when you would see his or her real self.UPians are also not very obedient.We do not listen to our teachers sometimes.Not only to our teachers but also to our student teachers.Whenever they tell us what things we should do,we only don't mind them or else we just do things in our way or our own style.We do not care of what other people would say about us.Being not studious is another quality or trait we have.There are sometimes that we do not study especially whenever there is a test.We know that we should study so that we will have high scores but sometimes when what we are studying does not get into our heads or brains we just do not force ourselves because it would just make things more difficult for us.Like when you get to study a very long chapter of your book then aside from that you would have another test in another subject the next day,it would really be very hard for you.Me,all I do is study whatever subject goes first in the schedule and study the other one later,but if there is no other time to study the other one left I just have no other choice but to leave the other subject behind and wait for whatever result it would have.Punctuality is also another of the not so many negative qualities that U.P. students have.Although some of the students are very punctual there are really some who are not.Some arrive very late not only during school days but also during some practices.It seems that they really could not do something to solve their little problem.We also are not cooperative enough when it comes to school activities.Not only stopping there,it also includes classroom activities and presentations given to us by our teachers.During practices not all would cooperate,some would go missing in just a second and then you will just find out that they would be or are already in the nearest internet cafe playing online games or just simply surfing the net.
Those qualities stated above are maybe just some of the negative things I can describe students of U.P. High.If there are some things lacking or I missed to put then it is up for you to observe,know and recognize what those are.

Excited to know your card grades?!

Tomorrow is already our card giving day at UP.I don't understand what I am feeling right now.Part of me is excited,another is nervous and the other is telling me that I should not get my card.I am afraid because maybe I got low grades in the third grading period.Especially in Math A (Algebra),Math B (Geometry),Science A (Biology),and Science B (Chemistry).I don't want to fail in any subject...I am already scared or should I say nervous because card giving is already tomorrow and that is just how many hours away already.Even though I already study harder today I still get low grades.I just can't understand why I don't get to have high grades.Maybe it is just not meant to be.But no matter what we do it is our responsibility to get our card from the teacher or class adviser.The card is very important because it contains our grades,whether high or low,failing or passing,and red marks or not.We should get it so that we would know how our performance was or how we did in that particular grading.If my grades are low then I don't think that mt parents would be happy about it,especially me.But if they know the reason why I get low grades in that subject they would understand.Still I don't want to have low grades because I am very sure that they would be very disappointed in me.I always try but the result is always the same or if there are changes then there would be only a little.What is really wrong?!I am praying that my grades would increase even by little points and not decrease,but I know that grades in some subjects will really decrease.If they do,then I just hope that it would not reach a failing mark.
...Oh Lord,I need help!!!....please...
During card giving,parents and teachers usually talk about the child's performance whether it is good or bad,what had happened to the child's grades,and everything that they need to talk about.Me,I already am happy if I see that my card has no red marks which means that I have no failing marks in any subject.It feels like a thorn was pulled out from you.Getting of the school card would be so fun for my other classmates or for other students if they are confident of their grades.Good for them,maybe this time they already can sleep soundly without any worry because they are already sure that their grades are high.What do you think the reaction of students will be when they see that the result of their hardwork and sacrifices?Of course they would be beaming or overly happy.How lucky their parents are to have children like them.But what about students who get low grades?What do you think is their reaction?Well they would be very sad and their parents would scold them for not studying and doing their best to get higher marks.We all know that it is hard for us to accept that our grades are low but it is also our fault.If only we studied harder then it wouldn't be all in this way.Even though they tried their best but that best was just not enough.If we don't do our best then we end up getting what we did not expect.Those people that get failing marks maybe just does not want to study,or pass assignments or even does not make projects although just very simple ones,then the teacher has no other choice but to fail the child.Parents can't blame the teacher for the action he or she has done,they are just doing the right thing.
So to all the students,just study hard and you will get what you want...good and high grades,and you would also make your parents very proud of you.

Sci.Tech. Week

In the Science and Technology Week of UP High or Sci. Tech. Week for short,some year levels would have exhibits at the Science Fair.The first year students no longer have the traditional Investigatory Projects or IP's of UP High like what we did and had before.The real reason is what we really don't know.Even us,are wondering why they suddenly cut UP High's tradition of having investigatory projects that would help us learn more in science.Whatever the reason is one thing is for sure.Those who did not experience to have investigatory projects or IP's will have a hard time later on since they did not experience having one.The knowledge that you learned from the IP could be used in the experiments or researches that you will undertake.If you have already tried doing an investigatory project then you might not have a hard time doing some experiments.

During the Sci. Tech. Week held last school year we had a field trip.We went to the South Reclamation Project or SRP for short,Crocolandia where there were many animals.We had so much fun.This year there is also a planned field trip for the first year and second year students.We will be going to the ship MV Doulos.The ship is famous internationally for their book sale and their international crew.Since it is here in Cebu this month it is a nice opportunity to take or have since my friends and I are planning to go there.UP made a nice choice in choosing the venue or where to go.

I wonder what the other activities there would be this Sci. Tech. Week.For sure it would still be fun and exciting for the students.What do you think?!The planned dates for the Science and Technology Week is next week,I don't really know the exact dates for the activity.In the Sci. Tech. Week we could or would learn many things in the different fields of science and technology.The week showcases the different information of things that are happening today.You would witness and see different things before your very eyes.I don't know if there would still be Chemistry and Physics tricks like the ones shown before.The tricks that were done by the students were really very nice and it would really amaze you.Maybe this year the Sci. Tech. Week would have only very little activities.Like the other activities in school the faculty reduced the other related activities to the celebration because of the lack of time.In the original plans there so many activities to be done but because of the suspension of classes and all the other changes that took place in the school year they were forced to change the already planned schedule.Even though we would complain to the faculty it would not be able to change anything.We just have to go with the flow of the activities planed to avoid conflict.

The Science and Technology Week is really nice to have or experience.Somewhat like not only UP has this kind of activity,maybe also other schools have an activity like this or a practice of having a science fair.It would be a great opportunity for the students to learn also from outside the classroom or not from the teacher but also by themselves.They would learn many things in their own way or by themselves by finding out new things while observing the things around them.While they are having fun,what they are learning would be added to the knowledge that they have.

I hope that the schools will continue to nurture the knowledge and learning of the students so that they will grow into intelligent people and would be able to contribute to the improvement of our country and its economy.

To all the teachers,thank you for all that you have done for us your students.I hope that all of you would continue to help children to learn for the future.

This Valentine's Day.......

I wonder what would happen this Valentine's day.Wish that there is a class on that day,that the plan of the UP faculty would not be pushed through.I also want to celebrate Valentine's day with my friends at school than spending it only at home.Usually during that day people would give gifts to their special someone and they would also receive gifts from others for themselves.What do you think will happen this Valentine's day?Would it be fun and special?For me every Valentine's day is always special,but it really depends on the person.If you are happy then your day would also be happy,but if your mood swings on that day...well,it is up to you on how to handle your day.It all depends on all the things that happened on that day.How do I celebrate my Valentine's day?Me?Usually I give out valentine cards during Valentine's day to those people who are close to me.But there are also times wherein I get busy and it would turn out that I could not make cards for them so I only greet them with a "HAPPY VALENTINES DAY".This day is a special day for us so we should make the most out of it.Even though it is not Valentine's day we should share love to one another.I hope that this Valentine's would also be as memorable as it was before.It is okay to have no gifts to receive,the people around me are enough to make my day happy and memorable.Remember that material things are not that important even though if it gives happiness to a person but what is the use if those things would just fade one day.Love is the right gift you should give to people.Show your love to them by caring for them and loving them for who they are.Don't focus much on his or her bad qualities,although it also matters,love them for being themselves.This Valentine's day I am planing to give out cards for the special people called friends in my life.Even though I cannot give them the gifts that they want,I hope they will remember that I am always right here for them whenever they need someone to talk to,someone whom they could lean on,and a friend that loves them.If there would be no classes on February 14,2007 then how can we show that we love our teachers?I know,why don't we students show it everyday to them.But on Valentine's day how can we greet them and show that we care for them.It is just okay if there are no classes but if the reason is because it is Valentine's day then their reason is not valid.Why don't they just give an activity related to Valentine's day instead of not celebrating it in school.Anyway there is no law that states that February 14 is or should be a holiday so why should they declare no classes.Whatever the reason is,I or we do not like the idea.Why don't they think about it?Think about it over and over again before deciding on it.
I hope that everyone would have a happy Valentine's day to remember for the rest of his or her life.Do what you have to do,do it while there's time.

I don't want to be absent!

Last,last week Friday,January 26,2007,I was told by the doctor to go home because I had chicken pox.I was still okay because I had no fever but chicken pox is contagious and would spread immediately.There are still some of my classmates who did not yet experience to have chicken pox.For my whole life being a student I really did not like to be absent for many reasons.One is because if you would be absent you would miss a lot of lessons that were took up on that day.Then if you are at home you have nothing to do.Thank God I was only absent for three school days and did not reach even one week.I was cured immediately because I obediently followed the orders of the doctor.When I was absent I was always at home.I even could not get out of the house because there might be children that would be afflicted by the disease.All I did at home was just read books,make assignments that were left to me,listen to music and watch television.I really did not like to stay at home because it is so boring there.There is nobody to talk to,and most of the time or should I say all of the time I am alone because my sister needs to go to school in the afternoon while my mother has some things to work on and also needs to get out of the house or go somewhere else.I was just making myself busy so that I would forget about my classmates and what they were doing busily at school while I was home sitting pretty and very relaxed.Maybe others would think that being absent is nice because you could escape the school works and activities given by the teacher.But for me,being absent in class is the hardest part.When you get back to school you will need to catch up in many lessons that you had missed.You need to be given make up or special tests for all the activities and examinations that you have missed.That means that your work would be double because you even do not know the lessons yet then you would take the tests given to your classmates so you have to double time in studying or reviewing.If ever I have fever or some other sickness that can just be tolerated or is not contagious I would prefer not to be absent from class.I would take the pain and the tiredness it would give me just to be at school.like before when I was in grade three that I had measles but still went to school.All I did was were a jacket for the whole time while sitting by the table or desk and listening to the teacher while he or she was discussing.That made life easier than to be absent from class.I really hate it when I have to be absent from class!!!But I could not do anything if I really needed to go home.Be good and follow the doctor's orders was all I could do to get well real fast.If I am at home the more I would not feel well.Instead I would feel more tired and sleepy all the time and would be missing my classmates long enough before I get to see them again,also I would be missing many lessons and most especially all the fun that they are having at school.
How sad.....

Have you ever been in love?!

What is love then?!

Love is a strong feeling of caring for and liking someone.It is something that makes you smile,happy and gives you inspiration,but sometimes being in love makes you cry,be unhappy and gives you a heartbreak.If you love someone you are ready to sacrifice everything for that someone.Even your life,and everything you have.You don't only feel love for your lover,you also feel it for your friends,parents,relatives,God,etc.You show your love to them when you care for them.Love makes you feel funny things.Sometimes you get jealous,overly happy,and too much sadness.It sometimes distracts you instead of giving you inspiration.that is what other people experience.When you love someone do not expect to be loved back in return.that is because sometimes it isn't really in the way you want it to be.Like other people,they just get hurt because of expecting that the person they love to love them back.If that person was not really meant for you,don't lose hope.God is just finding the right one whom you will love and will love you in return.Just wait for the right time and it come to you.If love comes your way,take the opportunity to have it because it may not come again.Don't play with it.Treasure it in your heart and keep it there.When you love someone you should be prepared of what would happen next.Prepare to get hurt because in loving always comes pain.Do not hold on to someone if he or she already has let you go.He or she doesn't deserve you love,look for someone who is worthy and deserving of having and experiencing it.If you are hurt just because you had loved,it is just okay.Choose to move on.God lets us experience to be hurt or let us be hurt so that we would learn and have more courage to stand up from the fall.Based on my experience,loving someone is not easy.You should be strong so that you can accept anything that happens.It's nice to love and to be loved back but you may not know that there is someone being hurt while you are happy in someone else's arms.In love understanding is very important.You should understand someones' feelings so that you would not be able to hurt him or her in any way possible.Let the person you love know how you feel for him or her because there might be no other time.You may not know but that person that you love might also have hidden feelings for you but is shy to say it because you may not feel the same way for him or her.In loving,also do not expect to much from someone.He or she might get fed up and would stop being there for you.There are some people like that so be very careful of what you do.If you love someone don't hold on to him or her too tightly.As much as possible leave even a little love for yourself so that when time comes for him or her to leave you wouldn't be hurt that much.Leave him or her to leave you,anyway you deserve someone better.Just like what the quote says,"When God gives you one important person in your life never hold on too tight.So when he asks to give it back,it's easy to let go without hurting so bad".
