What's your Summer sched?!

Summer vacation of UP High is now fast approaching.For us the students it would be the most enjoyable days in our school life.We get to rest from all the assignments,tests,and projects.It really is indeed an enjoyable time because we could do anything we want like going to the beach,swim all the while until we are tired,or else go to the mall and shop til' you drop or surf the net unendingly.You can even just stay at home and relax,watch television,or else eat all the time until you get fat.For me,I do the household chores,play board games and all other games with my family or only with my sister,and of course watch television.Sometimes I only listen to the radio for the whole day because I really love to listen to music especially when it is my favorite radio station.I also take afternoon naps so that I would not feel tired and sleepy throughout the day.During the summer vacation we also take the opportunity to hang-out with friends or else neighbors.Some of us just always roam around the neighborhood and enjoy ourselves while we are on vacation.We students take our summer vacation for granted because it is the only time wherein we could do all the things we want to do.We are free to do anything we like.This summer I already have some plans on the things I would be doing while I am at the same time enjoying myself.Since this summer the University of the Philippines Student Theater Arts Guild for Education or UPSTAGE for short,will have a summer workshop for its high school and college members.Then we also have this community outreach program of ours to be held somewhere here in Cebu.During the outreach program we would be able to help a community of poor people and at the same time make them happy by preparing or having a presentation just for them.My summer vacation this year would be a very hectic and exciting one.With all the activities in store for me this summer it would really be a productive summer vacation.When I come back to school next school year I am sure that I already have an addition to my stocked knowledge on different things because of all the activities that I would be doing this vacation.Of the many plans I have I am really looking forward to having or joining the workshop and most of all,learning how to play the guitar.Although i already know the basics of playing the guitar I would still want to enhance my knowledge and skills in playing this instrument since this would be our lesson in Music when we would be in third year.I would devote my time in making or doing things that I would be able to benefit from later on.I would be an industrious and productive person this summer vacation and develop my skills as a person.

Love is a Fallacy-Reaction Paper

The story of Max Schulman entitled "Love is a Fallacy" is indeed a very nice story.The characters of the story really showed how dumb and stupid they were.They do not think of things that are more important.All they care about is themselves and not of others.
For me it was entitled Love is a Fallacy because in the story the characters Polly,Petey and Max really are not feeling the thing that you call love.They are really not in love because for them love is not really true..simply it is just a fallacy.Just for example Polly,she only went steady with Petey just because of one reason..he had a raccoon coat.Which only means and shows that she does not really feel love or something for Petey.It was even just like she was only in love with the raccoon coat of Petey than with Petey himself.The material thing became more important to her than what she felt deep inside her heart.Even though she did not love Petey she still went steady with him just because of a raccoon coat.And as for Max,in the end he was the stupid person.He kept on looking for a perfect girl to fit him.A girl who would be fit for him as his wife so that his career would improve in a great way.He gave Petey the raccoon coat that he wanted just to have Polly as his wife but instead Polly chose Petey over him so there was no use in exchanging the raccoon coat for her.
Although the story uses much deep words you would understand its thought if you would really pay much attention and put much effort in understanding it.The author really showed much effort in his writing.The thought of the story was discussed and tackled very clearly.He wrote the story of his in a very nice way or very well enough to make the readers or the people understand the meaning of it.As you read the story you would be learning many things and lessons that you may or would or can use.Reading the story can make you understand and would help you choose what is more important for you.For me the thought or the idea of the story really can touch the lives and the heart's of the readers.It would help a lot for us in our daily life's challenges and problems to face.
I like the story because it really shows,discusses or describes what the importance of love is in a simple way.In life we should know what the important things are that we need to have in order for us to have a nice and beautiful life.Material things are not what really makes a person happy ..money and many other riches in this world can never make a person very happy and contented..it is right that money can buy anything but it cannot buy happiness.All it buys are things we can use but what we really don't need.Sometimes in life we choose material things more than what would really make us happy.We decide wrongly on some important matters in our life.We should learn already from our mistakes and change all the wrong things we have done so that we would have a life worth living.
Love is not really a fallacy.It is what you feel deep inside you..that is what matters most..it is up to you to make it real.If you love the person then go ahead and love him or her.Do what it takes you to be happy.Do not waste a single chance because you may not have another one.Just make sure that you would make the right choices in life.choose everything properly and wisely using every inch of knowledge you may have so that you would not regret anything.Always believe in love and it would be true.Learn to treasure it with all your heart because it is one of the most important things in life that we should have.

Love is a Fallacy-Summary

Max Schulman is a first year or freshman student in a law school.At the university he has a roommate named Petey Bellows,a nice fellow but dumb as an ok.One nice afternoon as Petey was lying on his bed Max found him with an expression of worry on his face.he first diagnosed Petey with appendicitis and told him not to move,not to take a laxative and that he would call a doctor.But as Petey muttered the words "raccoon" he started wondering what was going wrong.Max asked Petey if what raccoon did he mean.Then Petey answered him that he wanted a raccoon coat.Max then realized that Petey's problem was not a a physical one but a mental one.Wondering why Petey wanted a raccoon coat for himself Max asked Petey about what his problem was all about.After Petey told him the details of his problem he thought of the raccoon coat of his father back home and asked Petey if how important it was to have a raccoon coat.Petey explained and said that he would give anything just for a raccoon coat..anything!!!.Max had in his mind that if Petey would give up anything just for a raccoon coat it may be Polly Espy.Polly was beautiful and gracious but not intelligent.Max did not really like or love Polly but he only wanted her as a wife that would help his career as a lawyer further because he was well aware that a right kind of wife was very important for a lawyer's career.He was only thinking of himself and his career that is why he wanted to marry Polly and not because he loved her.After thinking things over and over..Max asked Petey if what was going on between him and Polly.Then Petey started answering all his questions one after the other.After Petey was able to answer all Max's questions Max decided that he would get the the raccoon coat for Petey but kept it to himself as a secret.He did not tell Petey what he was up to,instead he went home.When Max came back to the university Monday morning he gave to Petey what he had inside his bag..a raccoon coat just as Petey had wanted.Petey was very astonished and asked where it came from.Max told him that it was his father's way back.Petey also asked Max what he wanted in return for it.Max told Petey that he wanted Petey's girl,Polly.
At first Petey did not want to make the deal into a reality.He was thinking very very hard of what he would do.After a few hours of floundering he decided that he would take the raccoon coat and Max in return would have Polly.During Max and Polly's first date,Max first took her to dinner.After eating he then took her to watch a movie and then they bade each other goodnight.When Max was already in his room he began to think of giving back Polly to Petey because of her lack of intelligence and knowledge.He then decided to make an effort of making Polly learn.During their next date Max started to teach Polly about logic and the common fallacies of logic.But as he started teaching Polly about the different examples of fallacies he started to realize that there was no use of teaching her because they were going nowhere with their with their discussion and that she was not able to understand what they were talking about.On the fifth night of dating each other Max told Polly that since they already spent five evenings together then they were already well-matched.Instead Polly used the fallacies he taught her in answering his statements and questions.Max was very amazed of Polly's knowledge and progress in learning the fallacies.He then asked her if she would go steady with him or not.Polly answered him with a no,he asked her why and then she said that she already had promised Petey that she would go steady with him.Max was astounded of what he heard,he then asked Polly why she chose Petey over him and that there was no reason to do so.Polly answered him firmly that there was a reason why she chose Petey.Max asked her again what the reason was and she told him that she went steady with Petey because he had a raccoon coat.

The MV Doulos Visit

Our visit to the World's Largest Floating Book Fair, the MV Doulos was so fun and very exciting.The ship Doulos is said to be the twin of the Titanic.It was built two years after the Titanic was built.Without all the help of the volunteers on board the ship it would not have come to life.We saw really nice books.Although some of the book prices are really high the books they are selling have really nice stories.The people on board Doulos are mostly foreigners.There are also Cebuano's on board but only very few.The crew of the ship are very friendly and approachable.If you have questions regarding or about the boat or the crew they are very willing to answer you all you have to do is just simply approach them and ask.And even if you do not communicate with each other you can really see how friendly they are.Just when they smile at you shows their good attitude and how friendly they are to people they do not even know.
In the bookstore we were busy looking for books that would fit our likes.Then we did not know that once you already got out of the bookstore you can no longer re-enter or get inside again.All we did was stay on the deck of the ship.We ate ice cream and it was really very delicious.Also we played on the "Roll a coin for Doulos Project" in which you would roll any coin on the container.While having fun you would also be able to help Doulos in their project.Their project is to help the poor people and also to spread the word of God all over the world.
People on board the Doulos are volunteers from different parts of the world.There are even children on board the ship.People who work on board the ship stay on the ship and live there.They stay on the ship with their families to work and serve the people and their costumers.The crew of the ship is also privileged of being on board the ship because they could tour around the world and go to many places.The ship was brought to life by people who wants to spread the word of God all over the world.People who work on the ship do not receive salaries.
The ship really is a huge one.There are many books in it for people to choose.There are books about God,novels,adventure,children's books and many more nice books.They also sell cd's and souvenirs like Doulos mugs,key chains,ball pens,bookmarks and many other stuff.One thing I can't or would not forget about Doulos is their very delicious ice cream.It really tastes good and is very creamy that is why it also costs much.Another is the crew of the ship that were really very accommodating to their visitors and costumers.For some of us it was the first visit to the ship but to some others it maybe their second or third visit already.Me?!I was able to visit the Doulos twice and I took the opportunity to buy books at a cheap price.And there were many of them,most were the very thick novels that were really nice.That is why I bought them because I really love reading books.When buying books or any items on the Doulos we also help them and other people.

When love came...

In my life I was used to being always on my own,left alone by the people.i grew up with a life that was full of loneliness and was a very empty one.Everything really was different back then .Those chapters of my life were the ones I would want to forget.
Then came this particular person who touched my life and left a mark in my heart.When he came along I just felt so different.My life started to change into something I did not expect it to be.It became so colorful and happy.Although there is still a part of me in which I still feel loneliness inside me,there is also another part of me that feels happy,inspired(char!) and contented.When love came I experienced to be hurt in a way that it made me cry,I also learned to be happy and to value everything I have right now and all the mixed emotions that came with it.When you know that someone loves you you would really feel happy.it is because of all the people in the world there is that one person who loves you being you except your parents and God.
I only felt like this only this time.When you care for someone,and you like that someone very much,and that you miss him or her every time you are not together..that is no longer a simple "crush" case as you may call it but a very complicated feeling called love.I really did not expect this to happen so early in my life.At first I felt scared,I was afraid to get hurt and feel all the pain that it would cause to me..but then I realized..God made or created us to love one another and that He let us be hurt so that we would learn.Everything in this world is not perfect and in fact no one is perfect.It is just up to you to see the imperfect person perfectly.You may know that he or she is not a perfect person but in your way he or she is just the person perfect for you.You just need to bring out the best in him or her.
Before,I used to wonder what it was like to love and be loved back.Now i already know the answers to my questions.When you would know that someone other than God above and your parents love you you would just feel happiness especially when you also feel the same way or you also love that person.When you are with that person you feel secure and so much loved and cared for.How nice that feeling really is.As you learn to love you should not give your all or the whole 100% of it,at least leave some of it or 30% of it for yourself so that if the person leaves you suddenly one day,it would be much more easier for you to let him or her go and move on with your life.Just make sure first of what you feel before doing something that you would regret afterwards.When loves comes to your life you should chose whether to take it or leave it to pass trough you or by you.We should not be in a hurry to fall in love the time would just come that you would feel it.Do not look for love let it find you because it really will.Love will always find a way.The right time would just come without letting you know when and who it would be.Just wait patiently. Maybe God is just too busy making the best love story that will sweep you of your feet...

Life

Life is something we should thank God for.Without it we would not be here in this world breathing and enjoying what it has in store for us.We should thank our parents for bringing us to life.They are the reason why we are here now in this world.Our life is a very precious gift we received from God.If not for him then we would not have been alive and would not own what we have right now.Did you ever try to think of the possibility of not being here this world now?I have tried that already just by asking myself questions like "What if I was not here would I have the chance to get to know the people I know today?","What if I was not born would I learn to laugh,cry,be hurt,love,and be happy?"..and all the other what if's in life.Those questions get into my head when I feel like I'm all alone.Whenever I feel lonely and sad,thinking if there are still some people who still love and care for me,people who give importance of who I am.but I think that is what life is really all about.Life is not always the way we would want it to be.It is not always fair enough for us.Sometimes it just feels all the problems and all the hardships were given to you.it is not always being happy but also being hurt to learn.Whatever life is,it is the main reason why we are here in this world.though we are to face many challenges,difficulties and hardships in our lives we should learn to accept them and all the consequences of being alive.After all it also is our right to be here and enjoy being alive.To see what the world is and what it has in store for us.God chose us to be here so why no take the opportunity.
We should treasure every moment of this very special gift from up above.He is the one who made us and gave us the chance to be here right now.Even though there are times when we feel like giving up because we already feel tired to continue,He just makes you strong and is with you all the way.You just need to trust God and you would just know the reason why He created you to live here.Life was given to us to enjoy and experience.Let us spend it wisely.Being alive is a very nice feeling .You get to experience many things on the way.When you stumble you just need to learn to get up every after the fall.All you need to remember that everything He gave to you like problems,hardships,and challenges are for you to learn.Like in love,he lets you experience hurt so that you would learn from it.God did not make everything perfect.It would just depend on you on how you would make things be perfect.it is just in the way you live your life.Everything depends on you and what you do.Live your life happily and you would be able to enjoy what it really is.Do what it takes to do in your life because you may not know when your end would come.let the people you love know that you love them,let them experience your love and show to them how much you care for them very much.Live your life to thee fullest and enjoy every piece of it.Take all the hardships and face all your problems with a smile and you would know ho to solve them.Trust in your self and you can do things that you wish to do.
Always be happy!Wear a smile on your face all the time.If you would have problems just laugh it all away because "Laughter is the best medicine".

Risking Friendship for Love

In love with your best friend?What should you do?
Do you really have to or need to risk being friends just because both or even one of you fell for the other?
I think friendship should not be risked for anything else especially for love.I even think that friendship makes the bond you have more stronger,so why risk it?After all everything started with friendship so if it ends it should also end with the way it started.And if it also progresses then friendship still remains.I wonder why there are people who think that the friendship they share right now would be risked if they would fall in love with each other.Why do you have to risk a thing that should not or is not needed to risk just to fall in love.It is better to keep the friendship and make it stronger so that even though the person does not have feelings for you you would still stay even just as friends.Through friends we learn things we do not know...but sometimes we just fall for them along the way unexpectedly.In loving a person you just do not know when or whom..just expect that things would slowly change..just as they say "expect the unexpected",anything might happen beyond our control and without us knowing.But everything happens for a reason.So if you are wondering why you fell in love with that person then just ask God for answers,He knows it all!It is His will to make things happen.
On the road of friendship there are such times that best friends or even just close friends fall for each other and most of the time that really happens.I know some expected that they would just be friends and make that friendship of theirs more stronger..but what happens is their friendship blossoms into something else..Sometimes you just can't predict what would happen next..so..Taddah..Love Love has come their way..based on my experience..hehehe..i can really relate to the story or to the idea behind the topic..hehehe..above is what my opinion really is.if others would think the other way around then that already is their opinion.After all not all of us have the same opinions or should I say everyone has different opinions on different things so it is up for the person on what he or she really thinks.
In life things like this really happen..when you need to make decisions that would matter a lot and would or can change your life..but sometimes when we already have decided on what we really want to happen,we realize that we made the wrong decision and we regret.That is why before deciding we should think things over and over and make sure that that is what we really want so that we would not regret our decisions afterwards.Me?!What I did was I decide not to risk the friendship because i know that with it I would not have a hard time understanding the person because we are still friends..i have this friend of mine who really likes her friend or should I say who is already in love with that friend of hers..but the sad thing there is when that friend of hers knew that she was already in love with him or likes him he went away..without any notice and would not treat her the way as he treated her when they where still close..after he knew what the girl felt for him he would not even talk to her or even smile when they see each other..as if he does not know her..i feel pity to that friend of mine..Why is it her fault that it is him to whom she fell in love with?She did not tell her heart to love that person..But still I don't blame him for going away..maybe he just is not comfortable anymore to be with her after knowing.
